  • A doula provides continuous physical, emotional, and informational support throughout pregnancy, labor, and sometimes postpartum. During labor, we help with comfort measures, coping strategies, and advocating for your preferences, so you feel informed and empowered every step of the way.

  • No matter the birth setting, a doula offers nonjudgmental support and guidance tailored to your environment. In a hospital, we help navigate policies and communicate your wishes. At home or in a birth center, we provide hands-on comfort techniques, relaxation strategies, and continuous reassurance.

  • A midwife is a licensed medical professional trained to provide prenatal care, deliver babies, and handle medical complications. A doula, on the other hand, provides continuous emotional, physical, and informational support before, during, and after birth. While midwives focus on the medical aspects of birth, doulas focus on your comfort, confidence, and advocacy—often working alongside midwives and doctors to create a supportive birth experience.

  • Families should reach out as soon as they know they would like a doula, since availability is limited—typically I only take on 1–2 clients per month.
